What he does

Songwriting workshops to suit any subject or cultural emphasis as required, working as individuals, groups or as one collective team. Specialising in pop and rock formats, also in rap. Past workshops have included making a singing farmers’ market to promote the idea of sustainability, making junk instruments to play in an improvised story/ circular rap, writing ‘horrible history’ songs to perform in character.

Andrew also provides tuition on guitars/ bass guitars.

Biography

Andrew has been writing songs since he was seven, playing guitar and performing at 16. He has been a community musician for over a decade, and is also a qualified Music Therapist. He has worked with groups of ages 6-16 years making-up songs and raps, teenagers and young people forming ‘rock groups’, in statemented education, adults in mental health care and with dementia. He has performed with several bands as singer, guitarist and bass player – currently with the Bohemia Ukulele Band.

His last CD was a collection of songs to accompany a children’s book, “der Rauber Maiszerais”, published in Germany. He lives by the seaside in a room full of instruments where he looks out and makes up songs to the gulls as they hang in the breezes outside.
