Music in Detention
| Play tracks 'Song of Freedom' and 'Voice of The People' |

A three year national project running until 2010 to enhance the quality of life for immigration detainees, establish independent music making in Immigration Removal Centres (IRCs) and inform the wider community about the experience of the detainees. The project is run by the newly established Music in Detention charity, and Music for Change is one of the key delivery organisations. We have delivered work in IRCs across the UK including Dover, Haslar (Gosport), Yarls Wood (Bucks) and Dungavel (Scotland).
Between July 2007 and March 2008 we focused on delivery in Dover IRC. This also included work in schools in the town and with the local community. This will culminated in a free public event at Dover Library.
