Our Trustees

Vaughan Hawthorne-Nelson

Chair of Trustees. With both a passion for music and developing the creative potential of children and young people through the arts, particularly music, he has had a parallel career in music and children's services for the past twenty years having studied composition at Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA. He went on to work with children in the care system for many years and is now a Sure Start Children's Centre manager. Vaughan has continued to perform and record over the years.  "This role is a wonderful opportunity to join the two and be a part of leading and celebrating this amazing organization into its next phase of development."

Kate Bingley

Kate works in a freelance capacity on international development, in arts management and also as a musician; she is currently Artistic Director with the Dhow Countries Music Academy in Zanzibar www.zanzibarmusic.org. With a Masters in Ethnomusicology from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), and a Certificate in Music Workshop Skills from Goldsmiths College, Kate has also conducted research on the use of music to promote health and wellbeing among women in Sierra Leone.
