FUSE Opening event

31 May:  FUSE Opening event, Chatham, Medway

The Fuse Medway Festival is a 15-day celebration of arts and creativity that is different, diverse and daring. It provides a platform for talent in Medway and brings to the area some of the newest and most unusual artists from the UK and around the world.  From Saturday, 31 May to Saturday, 14 June 2008 Medway's venues, streets and open spaces will be filled with some of the world's most exciting, innovative and inspiring artists.

Music for Change is proud to be associated with the festival for the second year running, working in partnership with FUSE to produce the opening celebrations.

Prior to the 31st May, Caribbean artist H Patten will visit youth centres in Medway to produce Medway’s answer to the Notting Hill Carnival!  With workshops based on Caribbean processional dance and percussion, H and participants aims to delight audiences on the opening night with a loud, participatory procession from the Brook Theatre to the Riverside Gardens, where the fun will continue with live performances from the Alexander D’Great Trio and various arts organisations in the area.

Music for Change will also be headlining the evening’s indoor show at the Brook Theatre
with reggae masters REBEL CONTROL and High Life DJs.
