The Artist's Biog (pdf resource) Alexander has worked as a professional musician, composer and musical arranger for more than 30 years. As well as leading calypso workshops in schools and colleges, he divides his time between running a 10-piece band and his own record label. Since February 2000, he has also been Calypsonian-in-Residence for the BBC.

Alexander is a qualified and professional music teacher. His considerable communication skills make him an ideal and popular workshop leader. His captivating workshops combine Caribbean story, calypso music and rhythms and group composition. Balancing a blend of listening, participation and composition skills, participants are encouraged to compose a calypso song, based on a chosen theme or issue.
The Alexander D'Great Trio, regulars at the Notting Hill Carnival are also available for performances.
